ADL Honors Murdoch, News Corp. Chairman & CEO
K. Rupert Murdoch, Chairman and CEO of News Corporation, was honored by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) Wednesday night at a Waldorf Astoria dinner. The organization honored Murdoch for “his charitable endeavors and his creative vision of the media which has had a dramatic impact on the world.”
Fox News CEO and Chairman Roger Ailes delivered a speech about Murdoch. Liz Claman emceed the event, which had several other speakers honoring Murdoch: film producer Harvey Weinstein, ADL National Chair Robert G. Sugarman and ADL National Director Abraham H. Foxman.
There were other FNC personalities there: FNC anchors Bill O’Reilly, Rick Folbaum and Greg Jarrett, as well as FBN’s Charles Payne.
Also in attendance were media heavyweights: president, Chief Operating Officer (COO), and Deputy Chairman of News Corp., Chase Carey, son of Murdoch and Chairman/Chief Executive of News Corp., Europe and Asia, James Murdoch, media executive responsible for the creation of Fox Broadcasting Company and USA Broadcasting, Barry Diller, billionaire media proprietor Haim Saban, and magazine editor, publisher, and real estate billionaire Mort Zuckerman.
