The City of Canandaigua Police Department reports the arrest of Khristopher D. James, 20, of Wellsville, N.Y., for aggravated cruelty to animals, a felony.
The arrests stems from an incident that occurred in August. Police say that at the time, James threw his girlfriend's cockapoo out a second floor window, tied up the dog, and stabbed it.
The animal died and the events were reported to police after the animal was found in a closet at the residence.
James fled the area the day of the incident, police say.
James has been indicted by an Ontario County Grand Jury and has been remanded to the Ontario County Jail.
